Without a solid core, the district forms a remnant of rows and islands of houses on the connecting road to Dresden, which have no connection to the old town.

The dark sides of the city were written here between 1936 and 1945 with the Arado aircraft factory. It was the area north of Dresdner Strasse located at today's Wittenberg tax office, which was the administration of the works during the war.
