Köpnick, a small village with a rich history, was first mentioned in documents in 1361. The development of the place is particularly influenced by the construction of its church, which was built between 1895 and 1898. An old half-timbered church previously stood on this site, the walls of which were made of clay. The new church building, a modest brick building in the historicizing style, has a round apse and an attached tower. [1]

The cost of this church was 8,000 marks, which was a significant financial sacrifice for such a small village. The building symbolized not only the villagers' faith, but also their sense of community and their commitment to building a permanent place of worship. [1]

The ceremonial inauguration of the church took place on February 23, 1898 in the presence of Landrath Frh. von Bodenhausen, which underlines the importance of the church for the village community. The church of Köpnick is therefore not only an architectural monument, but also an important cultural heritage of the village, reflecting the history and beliefs of its people. [1]

Kropstädt is a remarkable place with a rich history dating back to the 13th century. The Romanesque stone church, built by Flemish immigrants, is the center of the village. Although the original structure has been destroyed and rebuilt several times over the centuries, many historical elements still remain. The church, now plastered and with a flat-roofed interior, has a retracted rectangular choir and a magnificent apse with arched windows and massive fieldstone supporting pillars. [1]

Restorations took place in several eras, such as 1710, 1832, 1896 and 1955. Particularly worth mentioning is the sandstone sundial from 1724, which is attached to the apse. The late Gothic octagonal baptismal font from Ruhlsdorf and the horseshoe gallery from 1832 are further highlights of the church. In addition, two figure gravestones of the von Leipziger family from the 17th century are a reminder of the town's past. [1]

The connection to Martin Luther becomes clear through the church visitation in 1533, which underlines the importance of Kropstadt as a religious place. Furthermore, the origin of the name, which probably comes from “rough site”, is a cultural heritage that dates back to around 1555. The history of Kropstädt is a fascinating example of the development of culture and religion in the region. [1]
