Stories of the district
The view from the former Elbe Gate towards the Elbe meadows shows a successful connection between city and nature. The openness of the river landscape forms an attractive contrast to the historical buildings and gives Wittenberg a special urban quality. This transition zone between urban and natural space not only contributes to urban identity, but also plays a crucial role in flood protection, local recreation and the entire cityscape.
