Marco Gernt Architekten designed four houses for the Holzmarkt site in Wörlitz. The concept, completed in January 2024, forms the basis for a possible development project. The visualisations show the proposed design.

Site and open space

The long, narrow site is divided into four house plots. Each house has a private garden. A public garden with paths and places to pause complements the proposal.

Houses

The four houses have L-shaped plans. Living spaces, private rooms and winter gardens are arranged to bring daylight into the interiors from several directions.

Façades

The design connects references to rural building traditions with a contemporary architectural language. Gables, timber elements and generous glazing define the elevations.
