Profil

MARCO GERNT founded the practice for architecture and urban development in Lutherstadt Wittenberg in September 2004. Our work is highly specialised and tailored to the individual requirements of each project. We continuously explore the relationship between contemporary society and the built environment. Our expertise includes sensitive architectural design, professional visualisation and the precise implementation of complex concepts.

How can we support you? Tell us about your objectives and requirements. We will respond promptly with individual and highly qualified services tailored to your project.

We utilize a fundamental understanding that is expressed in design as either dynamic or static. High values are the natural result of current professional discourse, personal experiences, and a period of validation leading to insight. Our strategy helps avoid errors in practice, resulting in cost and resource savings. Rather than focusing on cosmetic enhancements or merely beautiful cities, we aim to achieve a high standard of natural quality. Thus, a very good foundational structure remains unchanged and is, in itself, the highest form of beauty. Quality characteristics of new emerging criteria align with the goal of improving cities through the expansion of knowledge.

Potential from research, education, and industry is strategically harnessed to meet the standards of our advisory approach and subsequent empowerment. In the architectural sphere, this entails the pursuit of visions, the images of design, and economic viability. It is about capturing and shaping the transformations of life within form. For these objectives, we consider the following skills essential: artisanal conception, spatial visualization, and intelligent thinking. Long-term project studies at the intersection of architecture, urban planning, and economics have established a strong interdisciplinary foundation for regional, national, and international responsibilities.

The future city becomes something living, unfragmented into interior and exterior, content and form. In this space, instincts are uncovered, giving rise to honesty. Its chambers are constructed from steel, stone, wood, and glass. Colors can range from brilliant luminosity to soft pastels, to shades of gray and complete darkness. Conditions once dictated by haste and comfort-seeking are now rendered obsolete. On the one hand, nothing appears colorless, worn out, poorly imitated, or carelessly designed. On the other, such perceptions offer an opportunity to reconceive and reimagine the present and future reality of the city under completely changed conditions. It is essential to accept that this reality is not a loss compared to the historic city as a closed system.
